On a scholarship at UC Berkeley, I had the unique opportunity to design a cross-disciplinary research program. This program, which integrated philosophy, psychology, sociology, and religious studies with a focus on mysticism and Buddhist studies, was about more than acquiring knowledge—it was about forging a deep understanding of the human experience. My graduation thesis, "Psychology, Religion, and Spirituality: Quest for the Authentic Self," explored the intricate relationship between the mind, spirit and soul.

Seeking a deeper understanding of these themes, I pursued my master's in Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University, specializing in Depth and Transpersonal Psychotherapy. My thesis, "Into the Dark: What Was Once Your Pain Will Become Your Cure," explored the complex world of human emotions and the shadow, uncovering insights about pain and its potential for transformation.

After graduation, internships across the Bay Area exposed me to the raw, unfiltered challenges faced by people from diverse backgrounds. In a substance abuse prevention program, I aided adolescents in navigating their unique struggles. At Contra Costa Juvenile Hall, I supported young women recovering from the trauma of commercial sexual exploitation, each interaction a reflection of their strength. My work in Alameda County with adults facing dual diagnoses required a balance of comprehensive care and a deep understanding of their life experiences. This journey brought me to work with foster youth, each possessing their own distinct story and set of needs.

In 2017, while at Youth and Family Services in Sonoma County, I experienced a pivotal shift. My role became crucial during the devastating wildfires, helping clients navigate this challenging period. Simultaneously, I collaborated with FEMA and CALFIRE at the Emergency Operations Center, providing vital support in a high-stakes environment.

In 2018, I moved into the role of Probation Camp Therapist in Sonoma County, continuing until 2021, when the camp's population declined. Here, I saw the incredible transformation of gang-affiliated young men. Through therapy, education, and vocational training, they not only gained practical skills but also began reshaping their view of the future.

Simultaneously, in 2019, I began working at Diablo Valley College with START foster youth, CalWORKs, and EOPS students. As their counseling faculty, I dedicated myself to broadening their academic experiences and supporting their goals, mindful of the complexities of their backgrounds. This commitment lasted until 2024.

Now, fully immersed in my private practice, I am committed to this continued journey. Each client brings a unique story, and each day offers a chance for further evolution and understanding. This path, enriched by diverse experiences, is a continuous source of insight, inspiration, and growth. It underscores the profound impact of empathy and the life-changing power of therapy. In my practice, as I accompany my clients, we address the nuances of life, fostering a space where understanding, healing, and personal growth are interwoven into the fabric of their lives.
